Due to the current hiring restrictions affecting the New Zealand Health System, applications for employment will be assessed on a case by case basis.

You can update:
Your personal details (e.g. name, number, email and address)
Work documents (e.g. updated ID, registrations and certifications)
Subscription and contacting preferences (E.g. email opt-outs)
Once you have the correct documents and have been advised of roles that are available, finding a role depends on many factors and as you may be aware, each employer has their own processes. Often when a role is applied for, your application must pass through the right hands and be assessed against many other applicants and aligning yourself with the correct role can be the key to making you a strong candidate.
Finding the role can take anywhere from 1 week to 3 - 6 months. This depends on a few things:
Your readiness to work (.e.g. do you have all of the documents and skills required?)
Your availability - especially if you are moving from another country.
The roles that are available in your categories of work
The calibre of candidates applying for a role
The urgency to fill the role
Once we have applied for role, we will continue working with you to either; ensure you are managing your position well or help you to find another role.
Some of the factors that affect your outcome:
Necessity of the role - If the role is advertised but there is not urgency to fill it, the recruitment process can be lengthy. Allow for 2 - 4 weeks before hearing from roles where the employer has indicated that they are not in a hurry to fill the role and expect some changes in the proposed positions.
Your skills and experience - Your skills and experience really matter when working medically. Applications come from candidates with various skills and the employer will want to ensure they are selecting the correct candidate for the role. Always check what is required to set yourself up for the best outcome.
Authorisations needed - When interviewing for a role or being considered for one, there are multiple people that must approve/authorise your employment and this can affect the final decisions made about employment. There may be a few days or weeks before you have an outcome from your role, depending on the urgency of the role.
Your pay depends on your skills and experience.
First Recruitment will always act in the best interest of our candidates and this means finding fair, competitive rates for roles that you're interested in.
Different professions are paid different amounts and different individuals are paid differently but your pay rate will be discussed before you accept a role.
We are equipped and have the capacity to assist with registration queries and will work with individuals to guide them through the application process.
Each medical profession needs a qualification and registration to some authority. These are part of your work rights and at times, you may find it difficult to determine what is required from you but we're here to help.
Our team can work with you to obtain the necessary registrations and certifications.
If you are working on a casual/temporary basis through First Recruitment and are unable to make it to work due to illness, injury or other reasons, you must contact your recruitment agent immediately and let them know, with ample notice. 24 hours notice is best but events that are outside your control can occur so timing has to be within reason.
You must also contact the institution that you are working for and let them know that you are unable to make you shift, with reasonable notice. If you are unable to contact the health institution please let your recruitment agent know.
